July and August Events

Canal Street repaving

Preparation for the Canal Street repaving project is underway.  The project is expected to take two years.  Take this into account as you navigate Salem, but remember that businesses will be open (and impacted by the construction).  For updates, see http://www.buildingsalem.com/.


Sundays in July and August: Salsa on the South River

July 22: Salem Chamber of Commerce Coffee Connection Plus Point Neighborhood Lunch & Walk

July 29 - August 1: Eagle in Salem

The Coast Guard barque Eagle (http://www.cga.edu/eagle/) will be in Salem July 29 until August 1.  Eagle will be at the powerplant dock and visitation hours are tentatively set at 1-7 on July 299-4 on July 30, and 9-7 on July 31.


July 30 - August 2: Window Box Competition

Register by July 28 for Salem's annual window box competition.  Judging will run July 30 through August 2.  For more information, see http://www.salem.com/home/news/register-citys-window-box-competition/.


August 5 - 14: Heritage Days
