We are in the midst of sharing 350 years of stories during our grand anniversary year. Thanks to the support of Mass Humanities, we have been able to offer a wide variety of special programming dedicated to Nathaniel Hawthorne—a well-known yet enigmatic icon. Using the study of history, literature, and language, hundreds of visitors of all ages have had the opportunity to learn about the themes that Hawthorne explored during his prolific career and how they translate today.

Cold weather is here, how about something warm and simple to make? Our soup mixes are hearty and comforting, just the thing for November.

The Museum Store is open year-round during regular operating hours.

The House of the Seven Gables is one of 32 sites nationwide selected to host a new program series titled “Becoming American: A Documentary Film and Discussion Program on Our Immigration Experience.”

In partnership with Salem State University and the North Shore CDC, we are extremely proud to have been selected to showcase these six community programs that are free and open to the public. Programs feature documentary film screenings and discussions led by Salem State University scholar and moderator Professor Elizabeth Duclos-Orsello and are designed to encourage an informed discussion of immigration issues against the backdrop of our country’s immigration history.

"Becoming American: A Documentary Film and Discussion Series on Our Immigration Experience" will begin Wednesday December 5th, 2018 at 6 pm at The House of the Seven Gables.
