The Salem Maritime Festival

The 30th annual Salem Maritime Festival is
August 4-5, 2018!


Hosted by Salem Maritime National Historic Site in cooperation with Essex Heritage
and Eastern National, the Salem Maritime Festival features live music and dance,
harbor cruises, interactive programs, arts, crafts, and more!

Join us for an entertaining evening of music and dance as we celebrate the 350th anniversary of The House of the Seven Gables. 
Throughout the evening there will be pop up music and dance performances along with amazing food and drink options from Smokin' Bettys BBQ and Bar, The NexMex Thing, Bon Me Truck, Ipswich Ale Brewery and Rumson's Rum.

This will be an evening full of international music, food, drink, and fun not to miss!

The Immigrant Experience: A Cantata by John Kramer: Kramer’s cantata is composed in seven movements for choir, soloists, violin, clarinet, cello, and piano. This timely piece reflects the issues surrounding immigration, and features texts by the Founding Fathers.

John Keegan & Madhouse:​ Madhouse belts out a unique and savvy mixture of R&B, soul, country, blues and swing. This group will get everyone on their feet and dancing to cap off the night!

Local History Film Series 2018
1:00 PM, Tapley Memorial Hall: Heritage Films of Danvers will feature summer weekly one-hour historical programs unique in their film/discussion style presentation. Dan Tremblay, presenter, is a volunteer member with the Danvers Historical Society and coordinates this series to support the Society.

3rd Thursday Speaker Series at Tapley Memorial Hall 7- 8:30pm
Author, Bob Hubbard shares additional research about "Old Put", Gen. Israel Putnam. Israel Putnam (1718–1790) played a key role in both the French & Indian War and the Revolutionary War. He later commanded a force of 500 men who were shipwrecked off the coast of Cuba.
Robert Ernest Hubbard is a retired professor from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut and an adjunct faculty member in the college’s Master of Fine Arts Writing Program. Mr. Hubbard's recent publication is "Major General Israel Putnam: Hero of the American Revolution"
