Cable Replacement Project Update

Cable Replacement Project Update

From: Robert K McCarthy
Councillor Ward One

We wanted to check in with a brief update on cable removal.

As you know, our crews are currently working on at the corner of New Derby and Lafayette Street, and on Derby Street near the intersection of Daniels Street. Good progress continues at both sites.

At the New Derby Street work site contractors expect to complete the majority of their work on Lafayette Street corner by the end of the day on Friday. That's said there may be some residual work to complete at the start of next week. Contractors look forward to getting started in the New Derby Street-Lafayette Street intersection on Wednesday.

At the Derby Street work site contractors expect that they will complete their work on the trench that is currently being excavated near Palfrey Court by the close of the work day on Friday. Once the section of cable is removed and the trench is backfilled and repaved, contractors will open up the next trench section and repeat the process heading west on Derby Street.

If you have questions about any of the above mentioned cable removal activities, or know of someone who does, please feel free share with them our toll-free project hotline number 844-SALEM-CABLE.

Your patience is greatly appreciated as we work to complete cable removal as quickly, and as safely as possible.

Thank you,
Darin
